The Kentucky Assisted Living Facilities Association (KALFA) is the only organization in the Commonwealth solely dedicated to representing assisted living and other senior housing communities throughout the Commonwealth. KALFA is the Kentucky affiliate of the Assisted Living Federation of American (ALFA).
KALFA’s services include training, research, publications, conferences, products and advocacy relations. KALFA’s services at the state level include consumer education materials, public policy development, newsletters, training programs, membership listings and much more. In addition, KALFA has membership categories for providers, vendors, nonprofit agencies, colleges/universities and individuals.
KALFA’s core principles are to be accountable, be good stewards, exhibit enthusiastic service, behave with integrity and demonstrate respect for all. KALFA was instrumental in working cooperatively with AARP-Kentucky, other constituency organizations, state agencies and Kentucky lawmakers to research and support model assisted living legislation that was enacted into law during Kentucky’s 2000 General Assembly.
Provided below is background information about that effort, as well as a copy of KALFA’s popular assisted living consumer publication, Providing Choice.
